How much growth is too much? In our search to define sustainable I think it is important to point out that which we believe to be unsustainable. This is Dubai. They don't have a lot of water there. The top image is from 1991. The bottom one is from 2005.

remind me of what is going on over in vegas. i remember driving there when i was 16 and going through endless miles of desert. now it has spread out so far that the drive doesn't seem all that long anymore. nice to get to vegas quicker but if one really thinks about it....the desert shouldn't look like golf greens
